Roselow Sargent Crab fruit is a favorite food of the ruffed grouse, pheasant, and woodpecker. Its white flowers produce an abundance of red fruit, and a variety of birds feed on them and their seeds, buds, nectar, and flowers. Deer are drawn to crabapple trees for the fruit as well, and to browse any new growth. Roselow Sargent Crabapples are good windbreaks.
