Black spruce is a tall, narrow evergreen tree with a spire-like crown. It has descending branches, with beautiful dark, bluish-green needles, and upturned ends. Lower limbs sweep the ground that provides wildlife habitat. It is an excellent choice for wetland situations in cold northern climates.
