The Michigan Envirothon to Be Held in the U.P.

The Michigan Envirothon will be held this spring in Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. The competition will be May 12-13. The Envirothon is a program for high school students designed to cultivate a desire to learn more about our natural resources and environmental issues through competitive events.

Students learn about environmental topics using hands on, out-of-doors learning. The six natural resource subject areas are: soil/geology, water/aquatics, wildlife, forestry/vegetation, energy, sustainable agriculture and an environmental issue that is different every year. The Dickinson Conservation District will be hosting a training session for Dickinson County teams this spring. Iron Mountain High School is looking for a team leader for a team as well. Please call us for more information.
